Bushdogs, banana leaves, and an army of advocates

Today on the podcast we’re talking about how sometimes entertaining people with animals is OKAY! What the animal is used for is far less important than how they are cared for. When we start feeling too high and mighty about what the animal is used for, we can easily forget our audience and fail to move the average Joe down the conservation funnel. 

I also get the pleasure of sharing a story about a keeper I know. She wanted to train a pair of scared, novice bushdogs how to paint, but due to concerns of adding undo stress and risking their safety she was denied that chance.

What resulted from her creative persistence and her TRUELY listening to and understanding the concerns of her supervisor is the picture below.
